I graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2020. Afterwards, I worked as a Food Production Research Engineer at Rebellyous Foods, a plant-based chicken startup in Seattle, where I designed new equipment and processes to make plant-based meat manufacturing cheaper and more efficient. I was a part of the EA and One For The World chapters at the University of Waterloo as well as the Stanford Alt. Protein Project. I have facilitators numerous EA and alternative protein fellowships. Now, I am a Process Engineer for New School Foods, a plant-based fish startup in Toronto, where I am designing the new pilot production facility. Also, I am producing a podcast called Cultivating Careers in Alternative Proteins and am volunteering for ALLFED.
I can connect them with opportunities in the alternative protein industry as well as other EAs which may have similar interests whom I have met through other EA meetups.
They can help me to grow my network in the alternative protein industry (especially in Canada). They could direct me to resources to help me build career capital. They could raise interesting points about EA which I hadn't considered that could improve my impact as an effective altruist.
