I consider myself a generalist and am a quick learner, hard worker, and am very driven to maximize impact.
I gave a talk on cause prioritization at West Point.
There have been no local groups near me I have been able to attend, but I am attending EA Global 2019. Further, I am resigning from West Point to better pursue work in or relating to effective altruism.
Effective altruism has been actively on my mind since I was 17. When I discovered its ideas, I immediately felt like I had found my long-lost home.
That being said, I decided to join the military right out high school, which had been a long-term goal of mine. My service contract is just about up, and I am now interested in doing direct EA work and/or research.
I have been writing about effective altruism and similar topics lately on my blog, www.evanward.org
Feel free to reach out! Let's work together and maximize our impact.
