Effective altruism has been actively on my mind since I was 17. When I discovered its ideas, I immediately felt like I had found my long-lost home.
That said, I decided to join the military right out high school, which had been a long-term goal of mine. My service contract ended in May 2019, and I am now interested in doing direct EA work and/or research.
