Learned about EA while pursuing my PhD in Sydney, Australia. Currently live in Chicago, Illinois and am a Co-Organizer for EA Chicago. Currently work in the immuno-oncology space within the pharmaceutical industry, and taking an earn-to-give approach. Co-founder of Match for More (matchformore.org). I take a suffering-focused ethics approach to my charity, with the specific goal of minimizing extreme suffering.
I'm happy to share what I've learned about effective donation strategies, including how to utilize a Donor Advised Fund and work with others to optimize impact from a patient philanthropy point of view. I am very interested in discussing cause prioritization and EA values, particularly around suffering-focused ethics.
I'm looking to help broaden the prominence of EA in professional setting outside of direct EA-adjacent work at non-profits. I would welcome feedback on a side project that I've been working on with EA colleage Aaron Hamlin, which can be seen at matchformore.org. I would love to share/receive advice about effective/tax-efficient donation strategies, and also connect with others who are looking to spread more suffering-focused views when it comes to cause prioritization.
